About

About Dogs for Depression

Dogs for Depression works to raise awareness and understanding of the benefits of emotional support dogs and psychological assistance dogs amongst both the public and medical practitioners.

Formed in 2009 based on it’s founder’s personal experience of adopting an abandoned dog and overcoming depression, Dogs for Depression provides a web-based awareness campaign and information service.

We provide online information to prospective emotional support dog owners about the healing benefits a dog can offer sufferers of depression as well as practical advice about selecting and training a suitable dog.

Dogs for Depression strongly endorses dog rescue and the adoption of abandoned dogs and do not support purchasing of puppies which is increasingly inhumane industrial level puppy farming.

We do not operate a psychological assistance dog training facility.

Dogs for Depression is a non profit set up which does not receive any outside funding at the present time.
