What We Do

Even though the therapeutic benefits for patients of bringing a therapy dog into hospital are well documented, and the concept of using service dogs for other conditions is well established, for some reason the proven health benefits of using a support dog to help treat depression are still going unrecognised in the UK.

Dogs for Depression works to raise public awareness of the health benefits of psychological or emotional support dogs by sharing success stories and providing online information on the ways in which support dogs aid sufferers of depression, anxiety or other psychological conditions.

The website strongly encourages dog rescue and adoption and offers practical advice on how to go about choosing, training and caring for a suitable rescue dog.
