Welcome To Dogs For Depression!
Dogs for Depression is a not for profit organisation. Its goal is to highlight the healing benefits a dog can offer in recovering from depression and to promote rescue dog adoption.
On our site you will find lots of information about how dogs help people with depression, and how you can go about helping a dog by rescuing an abandoned pet.
We cover the important things to consider when planning your dog rescue: how to choose a dog that's right for you and hints and tips on caring for your dog once he arrives in his new home.
Our objectives are to:
- raise awareness of the health benefits of dog ownership for people suffering from depression, anxiety, stress or other illnesses
- promote dog welfare through the rescue and adoption of abandoned pets
- encourage responsible dog ownership by offering information about choosing and caring for a dog
- improve the public's understanding of depression as an illness and combat stigmatisation
We hope you find this website helpful and informative.
